Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-Palm Beach Gardens) joined President Donald Trump for the unveiling ofย “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard” during a ceremony at Mar-a-Lago this week.
“President Donald J. Trump Boulevard now stands as a permanent reminder for courage, leadership, and unapologetic patriotism,” Weinberger said. “I’m proud to have played a role into make that happen.”
Known in Florida political circles as “MAGA Meg,” Rep. Weinbeger was influential in a bill, HB 987, in February 2025, to rename a four-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard between Kirk Road and South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach County after the current and former president.
The now President Donald J. Trump Boulevard is also located near Palm Beach International Airport and President Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago club, which is also his Florida home. Trump became a permanent resident of Florida back in September 2019.
Last fall, Rep. Weinberger highlighted the boulevard with a billboard showing the lawmaker holding a “45-47 Pres. Donald J. Trump Blvd” sign off the highway. “Promises made, promises kept,” the billboard read.
With Weinberg’s help, HB 987 was championed by Reps. Charles “Chuck” Brannan (R-Macclenny) and Danny Nix (R-Placida). The bill was also co-sponsored by several other lawmakers, including Rep. Berny Jacques (R-Seminole), Jim Mooney (R-Islamorada), Michelle Salzman (R-Escambia County), Rachel Saunders Plakon (R-Lake Mary), Susan Valdes (R-Tampa), and Christine Hunschofsky (D-Parkland).
Gov.ย Ron DeSantisย signed the bill into law in June.
About a month later, the boulevard’s distinction was unanimously approved by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, and soon after, the Town of Palm Beach Council.
President Trump thanked the state of Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and state lawmakers for the distinction in a Truth Social post following the honor.
“It has been brought to my attention that the Great State of Florida, which I won BIG three times, and where I am a proud Resident, has renamed an important four-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard, in Palm Beach County, to โPRESIDENT DONALD J. TrumpBoulevard “Thank you to Palm Beach County, Governor Ron DeSantis, and all of Floridaโs great State Lawmakers, on granting me this wonderful honor! I LOVE FLORIDA!”
