State Rep. Meg Weinberger from Palm Beach Gardens confirmed that she filed a bill over the weekend to rename the local airport after President Donald Trump. If passed, the name would be changed to “Donald J. Trump International Airport.”
Weinberger was also a co-sponsor of the bill that renamed a four-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard after Trump earlier this year. The section stretches from the airport out to Mar-a-Lago.
Weinberger said the bill was filed over the weekend, but it is still in the drafting stage.
