Meg Weinberger has been serving our community for over 20 years, benefiting people and animals who share our planet. With a mission to protect and defend Floridaโs citizens, families, and the animals that enhance our lives, Weinberger is taking a leap onto the political stage, targeting Palm Beachโs soon-to-be-open House District 94 seat in elections this August.
At home in Palm Beach Gardens, Weinbergerโs life is a bustling hub of activity, with her husband Eric, two daughters, Zoie and Riley, 14 dogs, 30 cats, 16 horses, two zebras, four donkeys, four goats, two alpacas, nine pigs, 16 swans, 20 ducks, two cows and the latest arrival, one ram, adding joy and liveliness to her life. She jokes, โThe only thing missing is a partridge in a pear tree.โ
But Weinbergerโs love for animals goes far beyond her front door. Rescue Life, her sanctuary for abused animals, rescues, rehabilitates, and finds homes for horses, donkeys, zebras โ you name it, ultimately saving them from a life of mistreatment or untimely death.
One of Weinbergerโs most urgent campaigns, inspired by the horrific illegal slaughter for meat of a beloved horse named โWarโ whom her group rescued and found a home for, is to create a state-run task force to investigate and prosecute Florida-based crimes of this horrific nature against animals. Every year it is estimated that 30,000 horses are illegally slaughtered.
Weinberger says, โWe need to have stronger laws that punish people who commit these horrible acts of animal cruelty. Florida is the epicenter of this crisis. I love these horses. Iโll never stop fighting for the animals that canโt fight for themselves. We are the voice for the voiceless.โ
But itโs not just about the animals. Growing up alongside her adopted sister Louise, who had Down Syndrome, Weinberger learned early on about the power of love and compassion. Unfortunately, Louise passed away over 20 years ago and her memory has fueled Weinbergerโs passion for mentoring individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. She has dedicated her life to uplifting the most vulnerable in our society.
Thanks to Weinbergerโs vision and management, Rescue Life collaborates with many local South Florida-based organizations to become a force multiplier, serving local children, families and animals alike. These organizations include the Dreamride Experience, Hometown Foundation, Els Center for Excellence Autistic School (providing therapy dogs), and Aunt Florida Projectโs summer camps (opening its grounds to underserved middle schoolers), among others.
Before starting her own foundation, Weinberger served as an officer and Vice President for five years on the board of Big Dog Ranch Rescue. During her tenure, she organized numerous large-scale fundraising campaigns and events. She is also a mentor at Place of Hope and Kid Sanctuary and has held numerous positions on their fundraising committees throughout the years.
Now Weinberger is taking her advocacy to the next level, running for the open State Representative seat in District 94.
With a heart fueled by common sense principles and a drive honed by years of hard work, sheโs ready to take on the challenges facing our communities head-on.ย From promoting sustainable farming practices to defending parental rights and fiscal responsibility, Weinbergerโs platform is as comprehensive as it is impactful. And her commitment to keeping insurance rates, gas prices and interest rates in check resonates with hardworking families across the district.
But amidst the hustle and bustle of politics and philanthropy, Weinberger finds solace in her daily routines โ whether itโs tending to her farm, riding horses, or even indulging in ice plunges for a mental health boost. Her resilience and determination shine through, reflecting a promising political leader in the making.
As Weinberger embarks on her journey of public service, she brings with her the values, skills and knowledge that have fueled her many successes in private life. Instilled by her upbringing: strong faith and work ethic, a tight-knit family, conservative principles and an unyielding love for animals, Meg has the profile any jurisdiction would envy. And in a world where integrity and compassion are often in short supply, Weinberger stands as a beacon of inspiration โ ready to fight for whatโs right and protect the interests of all, with a special focus on our communityโs most vulnerable.
