(WEST PALM BEACH, FL) – Republican candidate for State House District 94 Meg Weinberger recently toured several South Florida farms to garner a better understanding of the important role agriculture plays in Florida and to listen to the concerns of the all-important Florida farmer.
Growing up on a farm, Meg understands how critically important the farming community is to Floridians and the state’s overall economic outlook. Agriculture bolsters Florida’s economy by injecting over $100 billion in annual revenue into the state economy.
“Protecting Florida’s agriculture is vital to the health of our state economy. Not only is Florida a leading producer of citrus and sugarcane, but our farmers are also major producers of a wide variety of vegetables such as bell peppers, corn, lettuce, and much more. The farming and food system employs more than two million people in the State of Florida. It is important that we protect our agriculture community from misguided, leftist environmental groups that promote an anti-farming agenda,” said Weinberger.
